An Arizona sheriff says authorities are searching for a suspect who allegedly set several fires in a forested area and later fired shots at a federal officer, who wasn't wounded.

Homeowners in northern Arizona were given the green light to return Monday days after being displaced by a fast-moving wildfire, while residents more than 200 miles away fled their homes after a blaze forced an evacuation of a small mountain community overlooking Tucson.

A man accused of flying a drone over a major Arizona wildfire has been arrested, with authorities saying he interrupted firefighting efforts on a blaze that has forced thousands of people from their homes.

Firefighters have made significant progress in recent days battling the 25,342-acre Goodwin Fire on the Prescott National Forest. KNAU’s Ryan Heinsius reports, crews have now contained 43 percent of the blaze.
