The state's largest community college district will ask the Arizona Supreme Court to overturn an appeals court ruling saying young immigrants granted deferred deportation status are not eligible for lower in-state college tuition.

The Arizona Court of Appeals says young immigrants granted deferred deportation status under a program started by former President Barack Obama are not eligible for lower in-state college tuition.

The Arizona Board of Regents has sent a letter to President-elect Donald Trump asking him to protect immigrant students who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children.

Northern Arizona University

The Northern Arizona University Faculty Senate unanimously voted Monday to make the school a sanctuary campus for undocumented students and those who are part of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
