Residents Return to homes in Payson

Flagstaff, AZ – Fire officials say residents who were evacuated from their homes in the Whispering Pines subdivision north of Payson can return to their homes this afternoon, Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 5 pm. Their homes were thereatened by a wildfire that is still burning over 700 acres in the Tonto National Forest. Residents in the Beaver Valley subdivision were allowed to return to their homes last night.

Windy Friday with the approach of another storm. Rain showers increase from west to east across AZ through the afternoon. Friday overnight into Saturday morning the Flagstaff region, Mogollon Rim and the Whites will see up to an inch of snowfall (higher amounts above 7000’). Snow levels then rise through a cool and showery Saturday. Sunny and mild weather returns Sunday into next week.
