Live from Pledge Central - Day 4: 81% to Goal

There's only one day left in KNAU's short fall pledge drive - a mere 5 hours of on-air fundraising - and just 19% of our goal left to raise!

The calls and pledges of support we have received these past few days have been inspiring.  College students making their first donation because being informed voters and engaged citizens matters to them; longtime listeners who became first-time donors because they realized there's no such thing as a gift too small; former residents who moved out of state but still support KNAU because they feel it's the best; people living in rural areas where public radio is their connection to a broader community; and parents who enjoy family time listening to science programming with their kids.

There's no such thing as a "typical" KNAU supporter.  The reasons why people value Arizona Public Radio and the impact it has on their life are as unique as the listeners themselves.  And thanks to the support of KNAU's listening community, we have made incredible progress toward proving that this short pledge drive experiment can and WILL be a success.

There's just one day left in the drive.  If you're a KNAU listener, but not yet a member, please take this opportunity to tell us that KNAU matters to you by making your pledge of support!

Once again we had fantastic groups of volunteers joining us in pledge central today, many of whom arrived adorned in floral shirts and leis in the spirit of our latest theme,"Hawaiian day."  A full contingent from Team Run Flagstaff, remarkably awake and energetic at 6 am, set the morning of phone volunteering off to a brisk pace.  In the afternoon we were joined by equally enthusiastic groups from The Arboretum at Flagstaff and Beacon Unitarian Universalist Church.  And special thanks to The Arboretum for offering free family memberships as a special incentive for donors!

Brandy's Restaurant and Bakery, KickStand Cafe, Josephine's Restaurant, and Main Street Catering provided much needed sustenance for volunteers and staff throughout the day - thank you!  And we're very grateful to the Babbitt Family and North Country Healthcare for offering generous matching challenge gifts to help supporters leverage the power of their pledge dollars for KNAU!

Finally, congratulations to our Tuesday evening iPad winner, Shawn Browning of Flagstaff!
