Taylor, AZ – All this year, NPR is presenting its series Climate Connections: reports on how people affect climate, and how that changing climate affects people. And every Friday this month, KNAU will bring you local and regional stories on the changing climate here in northern Arizona.

Today we travel to the small town of Taylor - near the White Mountains - to meet 82 year old Barbara Kerr. She's been harnessing the sun's power all of her life. Kerr's innovations in passive solar living - and cooking - have had regional and global impact. That's why the American Solar Energy Association has awarded Kerr the title, Solar Woman of the Year.
