Arizona Legislature Could End 2015 Session Thursday night

The Arizona Legislature is working toward the earliest adjournment in nearly 50 years.

Senate President Andy Biggs says he's aiming to end the 2015 legislative session by Thursday evening.

Biggs says there aren't that many pieces of legislation remaining in the pipeline to merit extending the session beyond Easter weekend.

Among the bills remaining are one aimed at creating new rules for ride-hailing companies like Uber and Lyft and Gov. Doug Ducey's request for a new inspector general.

That post would be charged with investigating waste, fraud and abuse of public resources.

Ducey said he wanted the post in January but didn't reveal specifics until two weeks ago.

The House pushed out two of four contentious elections bills Wednesday.
