Flagstaff AZ – ADOT spokesman Doug Nintzel says assessments will continue aslong as runoff continues, and he says engineers will check bridgesupports once stream levels go down.
Nintzel says motorists can expect plenty of potholes and otherrough spots on highways due to runoff and slides.
He says repair costs will be a problem because of the state'sbudget troubles.
The department already was stretching to cover snowplowing costsand was selling vehicles to raise cash.
Nintzel says Phoenix-area freeways held up well because therewas no sudden deluge that could have overwhelmed the capacity ofpump stations in low-lying areas.
