The U-S Senate race in Arizona is tightening up, with less than a month to go until Election Day. In the reliably conservative state, the advantage had long been with Republican Congressman Jeff Flake. But, Democrats are trying to capitalize on a shift in momentum.

Clinton has been making the campaign rounds recently, stumping for house and senate candidates.

Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne is giving more than 400-thousand dollars to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, to pay for patrols in Colorado City. He says that’s needed because the town’s police department is effectively controlled by the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. From Phoenix, Mark Brodie reports.

The U-S Justice Department today filed a federal lawsuit against Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, his office and the county. The suit accuses Arpaio and the sheriff’s office of discriminatory and unconstitutional law enforcement practices. From Phoenix, Mark Brodie reports.
