After a number of years in the for-profit sector, Joanne decided that it was time to put more of her passion and inner voice behind her career and shifted her focus to nonprofit work. Prior to joining the staff at KNAU in 2012, she worked for The Nature Conservancy, Maine Audubon, and The Vermont Community Foundation, gaining a strong and diverse background in project coordination, fundraising and nonprofit administration. Having grown up in a home where public media was a highly valued resource, she feels strongly about the importance of people investing in local public radio, and loves connecting with listeners and hearing what they enjoy and value about KNAU.
A native of New Hampshire, Joanne suffers from a bit of wanderlust and enjoys discovering new regions, communities, back roads and trails. She has lived in Maine, Vermont and Montana over the years, and traveled extensively camping, hiking and kayaking around New England and the Western US. When not at work, you'll find Joanne enjoying live music, baking, volunteering, working around her yard, taking photographs, and enjoying lots of outdoor adventures with her dog, Maddie.
