Doctor Shortage

Flagstaff, AZ – 6 general practitioners closed their doors this past month. Some retired, others went to work for Flagstaff Medical Center as hospitalists.

It's becoming more and more expensive for doctors to practice medicine because reimbursements are limited and overhead is high.

Goldwater on Goldwater

Flagstaff, AZ – CC Goldwater has produced a documentary about her grandfather that premieres Sept. 18 on HBO. Barry Goldwater was known as Mr. Conservative, yet today many of his views would be considered liberal. CC Goldwater tells Arizona Public Radio's Laurel Morales he was often misunderstood.

Sunnyside and police try to rebuild trust

Flagstaff, AZ – What happened that night isn't easy to explain. At a recent community meeting at an elementary school in Sunnyside deputy Chief Josh Copley recounted the events that led to Kyle Garcia's death. Copley says the officers attempted to pull over Garcia for playing his music too loud. Garcia kept driving. He pulled his car into a parking lot and turned around. The two officers blocked the entrance. That's when Copley says Garcia revved his engine and drove at them.
